GHG Emissions

UCSC is committed to carbon neutrality by 2025.

In efforts to meet the UCOP mandated net zero emissions by 2025, UCSC’s interim emissions reduction goal is to reduce our emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. Tracking and managing all emissions data is a core function of the Energy Management team.

The Energy department manages, or coordinates with the Sustainability Office and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) to report greenhouse gas emissions to many required and voluntary reporting bodies. UCSC reports to the following entities:

  • The Climate Registry (TCR)

  • Air Resources Board (ARB)

  • AASHE's Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS)

  • Environmental Health & Safety

How are we doing so far?
